Has anyone in here done anything with seed saving, heirloom / organically certified seeds? Book recommendations? Pointers?

You might want to check out Seed Savers and become a member so you have access to the seeds. I'm really interested in this topic as well and would love to see others sources.

I will definitely check that out, thanks. I think I also have a lead on a local grower (local is a relative term) who deals in heirloom and open polination seeds. If I find anything worth mentioning, I will post it - get it to you somehow.

Anything specific?

Beans are really easy to seed save. I also have been saving herb seeds for years (basil, cilantro, dill, etc).

I am currently trying to seed save tomatoes, first time.

I found going through a number of library books on the topic to be helpful.
