"What don't you fucking understand?"

I am bisexual : I like boys AND girls. I've been a lot more comfortable in my skin for the past year so I've been attending lots of lesbian/bi gatherings and going on dates with women. It really bothers me when I tell someone about my new boyfriend and the say, "but I thought you liked girls?" Of course, I respond, "I do." Then they just look ( Read more... )

Ppl are morons. That's why I hate ppl. Don't bother trying to please them all or getting them to understand; it'll never happen. They don't get it because they simply don't choose to get it. Or even care. Let them think what they will, cuz no matter how hard you try they'll never understand what you're talking about. It's very lonely, but I'd rather have ppl not understand me then trying to and mistaking me for something far worse than I really am.

Also, this little thing you put up reminds me of something I heard Eddie Izzard say. He had been talking about how when he goes on his tours and such that before he was in girl-mode, but now he's switched to boy mode. And now that he's in boy-mode fans keep asking "But, I thought you were a transvestite?" and he literally (in a very friendly way) gets in an argument with them in trying to explain that he is a transvestite, that never changed, he's just in boy-mode right now. The concept will never get grasped, hon. Take it from someone who has been out for 11 years and openly self realized pansexual for 6. And if you think trying to explain bisexuality on a regular basis is difficult, pansexuality is even worse.

Even though I have been in relationships with both males and females, even people who have known me my whole life, have known I was out for half of my life, continue, to this day, make some sort of remark about how they thought I was a lesbian.

For people who aren't part of the glbttqq community, anything outside of heterosexuality is "gay". I used to get aggravated and upset by it, too, but then I realized that it's just as narrow-minded to get offended by being lumped into a category because of ignorance. Now, I just go with it, or make some sort of joke about it. It's a lot easier to laugh about it.
