Years ago,

I wandered the halls of high school

Through the gates of social media

Remembering the days of

Loneliness and bullying

Because I was different

I didn’t follow pop culture

I didn’t follow fashion trends

I didn’t follow the rules for girls

I looked in on those

Now grown women

Remembered as tormentors

They were never my friends

I always thought teenagers had it hard. They have to deal with their brains and their bodies developing and then on top of that navigating through social interactions. And that's when they're able-bodied. But when we get older things change drastically. So much of what used to be important becomes second thought.

I like that you switched the order around from being enemies to now friends. It's amazing how we perceive things growing up in high school, and then when we grow to adults we are able to see the big picture and that maybe not everything was as it seemed back then. Really great take on this topic!
