I'm in Ireland. I'm leaving on Friday, and the airline pilots from Aer Lingus go on strike the following Tuesday over the company's decision to end its Shannon-Heathrow connection (it's all over the papers here.) I'm getting out right before the shit hits the fan ( Read more... )

On a point of accuracy.

Aer Lingus pilots are not going on strike because of the move of heathrow slots from Shannon to Belfast.

They are going on strike because Aer Lingus wants to hire pilots in Belfast and pay them less than what pilots in the Republic of Ireland are getting.

I'm suprised they're letting the bridge go through... that's crazy!

...it sounds beautiful.

I visited your true homeland!!! It was cold and rainy... but very nice. The rockies up there are incredible... but everything has french subtitles.

cheese is spoiled. or molded. whatever. and Israeli cheese is so good! you should really learn to love it again.
also: one month!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am still researching our facilities. We are apparently living in an old children's house (converted). I think that may bode well for the kitchen situation, but not for internet.
