If anybody would like to watch a horrible (but fun) movie, I would suggest trying Cannibal:The Musical, loosely based on the story of Alfred Packer. ...Think the Donner party but in Colorado. I don't know if Packer is very widely known to people outside of Colorado? So, anyway, if you have 77 minutes and streaming Netflix, it's entertaining. ( Read more... )

Shpadoinkle! Glad to hear you've discovered the joy and wonder of Cannibal :) I've been a fan for several years - we tried to put on the stage production when I was in Philly, but things didn't pan out. It is the ultimate production for small theatre groups - you don't need to pay royalties, basically just write to Matt and Trey (or whoever handles their stuff, I guess South Park, etc, has sort of made them a "big deal") to give them a heads up and they'll send you scripts or whatever. Unless you've got the material already - which I do of course :D - then yeah. woo!

If you're into that sort of low/no budget cheeseball film style, try the other offerings from Troma, most famous for their Toxic Avenger series, but have also put out such greats as Poultrygeist, First Turn On!, and Zombie Island Massacre.

...Poultrygeist. Wow. Heh. I'll see if they have others on Netflix next time I'm up for a movie. And First Turn On! sounds like... foreign porn poorly translated into English. :P Oh another bad movie? Bio Zombie. Really. It's a Chinese zombie movie, but you have to watch it dubbed. In Chinese, I can't tell if it's supposed to be comedic or... a really badly written drama. The English dub though... is... something else. Think Valley Girl.

That's pretty sweet about the no royalties bit. Good on them for making it easily available.

I just... I've had the music in my head for almost two weeks now... I barely ever watch movies more than once in less than a year, but... I saw this one twice in maybe a week? It's a weird thing, because partly it's just great fun, partly I really admire them for doing all that, and partly... it's nostalgic. I kinda miss cowboy hats and so forth. Some of it is filmed in places my family used to go to hike when I was little. Colorado's pretty much the less place I felt completely... together.
