You have the other worldliness of this scenario very well - it really feels alien, friendless, harsh. Very TS Eliot And poor Buffy, feeling all third-wheely. Following with interest.

Yes, Buffy's definitely a little outside of her comfort zone. And I like your description of Buffy as "feeling all third-wheely". Sounds like something she'd say!

Oh, God, I love this story! Spike's inner struggle when considering Buffy, Illyria's detachment, Buffy's fears, everything is perfectly wrapped up in a perfectly depicted alien atmosphere!

Can't wait for more, please don't make me *bats eyelashes*

Aw, thanks, Sotia! And those are such pretty icon eyelashes, too... ;-)

I'll try not to keep you waiting too long - but I have to admit that Buffy & Spike have been giving me no end of trouble lately, and it's been slow going to get them figured out (and keep them from destroying too much plot in the process).

I don't mean to be so slow - I'm very jealous of the quick authors, but I think I'm stuck as I am. :-)

I'm so glad you updated this. The story is so intriguing and I can't wait to find out more. Your depictions of Buffy and Spike's emotions are amazing, though I must say I'm a little miffed at them! Then again, they are in danger. Your Illyria is still awesome!

Thanks, jesterlady - glad you liked. :-) To be honest, Buffy and Spike have been miffing me lately too (from a writing standpoint, anyway. They keep wanting to go off on tangents I hadn't originally planned). Illyria, on the other hand, is wickedly fun to write!
