Lizzy had been only hanging around school for one reason; an accidental meeting with Heidi Turner, which hadn't happened. The two of them had been best friends throughout junior high, but once Lizzy started hanging out with Tammy more, and Heidi had made the high school cheerleading them, Lizzy saw less and less of her. Kevin saw her from behind and gave a deep breath. Well, there she was. He walked over by her, "Hey Lizzy." Of course, he started simple. He admitted to himself that yes, he was nervous, somewhat. But yet, he still had to try. Plus he'd already initiated conversation.

Exhaling heavily, Lizzy closed her eyes for a moment, before turning her head slightly to face Kevin. She gave him a subtle appraisal, and then turned away again, taking another drag from the cigarette. "Yeah?"

"What's up?" he said simply. He wasn't going to rush himself. He didn't want her to think he was just asking to ask... which was both true and untrue. He did consider her, in a sense, his friend.
