You're totally working out your Athena/Boomer issues here, aren't you? ;)

This was really entertaining. Well, and sad. But still, entertaining. I found it interesting that Athena's perspective would be that Boomer's giving in to her programming should be seen as mistakes. And I'd never thought of the idea that Athena started not at square one but at a huge deficit specifically because of who Boomer had been. By comparison, it looks like Caprica's going to get a much easier deal from the Colonials.

However, I was curious: In your fic, obviously she doesn't shoot Adama. What do you see as those mistakes are and what does Athena have to "earn back"? Is it simply being a Cylon? Is it the water tanks she destroyed? Do you see it as something else as well?

I liked this bit a lot: The way he’d said her name was almost as if he was pointing it out. That’s who she was. Not-Sharon. It was such an interesting way to describe him calling out her name. It had such hurtyness to it ( ... )

This is set in the same universe as Beyond Time (that Athena/Gaeta fic you liked so much) rather then The Woods. She did shoot the old man. I think, in this, Gaeta gets that she was a sleeper agent. It's sort of an AU. Did that make sense?

Oh, thank you. Now I get it, LOL. I was on the same page as millari thinking this was part of The Woods. Makes a lot more sense now, heh. I really liked the Beyond Time fic and this is a good follow-up for it. I'm enjoying your exploration of the Athena/Boomer issues.
