That was such great fun. Hilarious with a lot of human touch and great characterisations of everybody. I loved your Minerva and Alastor, and Arthur's voice was spot on. A thoroughly enjoyable story.

So glad you enjoyed it and that you found the characterizations true. I had a blast writing them all.

All he knew about Minerva was what he'd seen in public -- at Hogwarts, with students around. He had no idea about her private life. Or about Moody's or Flitwick's or any of them. Same is true for all of us....before we started communities like this one *LOL* - what a great treat this story is !! And after having so much fun with the "they are very entertaining to listen to" then there is the surprise end, which emphasizes just HOW advanced Minerva's magical driving abilities had been: I love it!

I loved this story!
"Yes, Weasley, McGonagall can drive. How perfectly IC. And Moody's reply, too.

She snorted. "Don't patronise me, Headmaster," Great to hear her say it. Also loved the easy, comfortable way they start thinking out the strategy together.

"Oh, do sit down, Alastor, before you fall over from stoicism. Another great line. As is the image of Moody as a fainting maiden.

Probably next he'd be told that Filius Flitwick was involved with Severus Snape.

And yet, there was no reason why any of the professors shouldn't be married or cohabiting. It was just. . .
Well, I've seen quite a few decent FF/SS stories out there. And indeed, there is no reason why any of the professors shouldn't have a normal lovelife - no reason other than that JKR seems to think love infatuations are for teenagers only.

And Filius is such a perfect peace-keeper. I'd like to see a Muggle Petrol station, indeed ( ... )

Thank you! I'm rather fond of visualising "fainting maiden" Moody, myself /g/. As always, your fabulous beta skills make everything better.

Oh, I love a good road trip! This was really clever, very funny, and truly well written. I love that in the midst of all the snark and hilarity, though, you managed to give Moody and McGonagall some real vulnerability. Even Molly's brief appearance had surprising depth! Arthur's viewpoint was perfect, and Flitwick's commentary was icing on the cake. Also, I laughed out loud at that last scene with the Death Eaters. Sodding road trips indeed!

Thank you! I'm really pleased that you liked the more serious parts; I think even the lightest of stories needs that sort of leavening.

This is absolutely delightful. I particularly like Arthur regressing to his Hogwarts days in the presence of McGonagall, and Moody's little fits of pique ("I just want us to be safe"), and Flitwick gossiping, and the griping Death Eaters at the end, and McGonagall...well, pretty much everything having to do with McGonagall. Let's hear it for road trips!

Thank you for commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed Minerva in particular. In case the icon isn't a clue, she's my favorite HP character.
