This is unbelievable. Perfect in every way, and I am absolutely in love with it.

The premise is great - Draco is left nearly destitute at the end of the war, and wants to do this one last thing to preserve a bit of his past. I love all the details about Pansy and Blaise - particularly Parkinson's and how uncomfortable Blaise's couch is. And of course I adore the banter between the three Slytherins, it made me laugh out loud each time. I love, love, love seeing into Draco's head - the way he's not a natural at this business thing, but he takes a chance and makes it work. Draco knowing that appearances are more important than anything else a lot of the time, as well - that was spot-on. I really like the thread of snark that runs through the entire fic, as well as the way the end has Draco in a place where he can truly grow up and move on to bigger and better things. The wistfulness felt at his visit to Grimmauld was so lovely. And the very last line definitely made me smile - "the company of friends ( ... )

I just wanted to say thanks again for such a lovely comment! I know the mods assigned me to you because I said I could write Harry or Ginny, but your request for Draco in business really inspired me and I had a great time exploring his Slytherin nature. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the story. :)

I really enjoyed your Draco, very IC and cunning. Yet, strangely vulnerable. But a new breed of Slytherin - one who can let go of the past and grasp the future, moving with the times, adapting to his new circumstances. Excellent! Loved it.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. :) Draco still has his sensitive underbelly, but I think it's part of his Slytherin nature that he would be unwilling to show it to anyone.

This is wonderful. What a fascinating study of Draco as a character, his relationships with his parents and other Slytherins. The story has a fantastic atmosphere of faded wealth and a class falling apart, and Draco taking advantage of that is so very IC and plausible.

I do have to wonder about Pernicious Parkinson and his own Slytherin cunning, though, not signing any contract *smile*. I hope Draco hasn't bitten off more than he can chew, there.

Thank you so much! I was a bit outside my comfort zone here, so I'm thrilled to know that my Draco felt right to you. :)

I can't say that I've ever been much interested in Draco. I do like snark dialog though and I've read a few stories in which he is a character. But he really comes into his own here. I totally see the Draco Malfoy from the series and he acts like the son of Lucius and Narcissa and a Slytherin to boot. But I also like him here. I'd probably enjoy joining him and his buds at the pub once and a while.
I adored your insight into the wizarding world post-Voldemort's defeat and what's changing as well as what remains the same. Human nature is after all universal. And you've made a interesting and plausible story about what drives Draco Malfoy to make a place for himself in his world, how he might do it and the growth he achieves. Just WOW!

This shows far more growth that I usually associate with Draco and for that I thank you. I enjoyed his reasoning very much and I read with genuine curiosity wondering whether or not he would/should get the house back. I love the resolution you gave him and I love your look at post-war society. It felt very real to me.

Thank you very much! Postwar fics are always a favorite of mine, so I'm really glad that setting worked for you.
