I love your Minerva. Strong and conflicted, and willing to make the hard choices. Chilling.

Thank you so much! :)) I had some problems writing Minerva, but I'm glad that everyone seems to have liked her.

I love this so much. Your Minerva is incredible. *_* Just. I can really see her doing exactly this, and her strength is amazing.

If it weren't such a somber time, Minerva thinks that she'd find their reactions amusing. Granger and Weasley are surprised, and it's obvious that they both thought that they'd have to argue with her about it. Potter, on the other hand, simply leans back in his chair and casts suspicious looks in her direction. Minerva meets his gaze straight on, and the only thing she can think of is, take anything you need. Anything that can bring you back alive.

She can't lose anyone else.

Breaks my heart so much, but it's absolutely perfect. Beautiful story! ♥

You've shown it all, through Minerva. Her hard choices, everyone's hard choices, the fears and regrets, the terror of taking ultimate responsibility with no guarantee of success. You show us how Minerva does it, and from that we can see how Harry and Ron and Hermione did it. (And backcasting to how Albus must have done it, is a horrifying vista of unbearable stress. No wonder he constructed that public persona of dottiness! At least it stopped people harassing him about his choices, quite so often.)

I'm so glad you liked this! I was really nervous about the way I had portrayed Minerva and everything, so to know that all these things came across makes me very happy. :)

I definitely enjoyed this as much as I hope you did writing it, Yoohoo It's Me. Thank you so much for a marvelous fic! I love your portrayal of Minerva's struggle with a difficult (and downright terrible) choice. Remus is correct though, of course. She had no real choice at all, just as she knew Albus did not. I think even knowing how their own story would end, they would've gone with Harry. They belonged with him.

Molly's reaction is heartbreaking, as any mother's would be. I've always imagined Ron at the very least being sacrificed at the end of things, whether or not Harry survives.

I love how you wrote this in present tense because of the immediacy it gave the piece. I like the observations about Dumbledore, also. Perhaps this is the worst thing she will ever have to do in her role, perhaps not.

Thank you again for such a wonderful read, Yoohoo. I am so very happy with it! Thank you thank you!

I am so glad that you liked this! You really have no idea. :)) I haven't written Minerva much before this, so when I got your request, I jumped at the chance. I had some problems with writing her - I was unsure if I really got her, so it really makes me glad that you thought it turned out okay!

It was so hard, killing Ron. :( I knew from the start that I would end up killing either Harry or Ron and Hermione, and in the end, I couldn't bring myself to off Harry.

Thank you for the opportunity to write this! :)) I'm so glad you liked it!

Wonderful fic. It's a lovely exploration of Minerva coming to terms with filling Dumbledore's shoes. I really enjoyed it.
