Utterly and totally terrifying, in your usual head-space-is-hell artful fashion.

Hojo's singleminded FOR SCIENCE! mental apparatus is consistent, in the way that obsessed people can build excuses into walls and sculpt a paradigm of self-justification.

Your take on Lucrecia intrigues me very much. I'm still trying to grasp canon, and couldn't tell how much of what she did was in desperation, trying to save Vincent by using Chaos genes. But the fact that she let Hojo use the baby (nice touch, that Vincent's wondering whose child he is) means she was willing to cross some pretty scary lines.

Was she as twisted as Hojo? Did she participate in those experiments? Did she protest the cruelty, the lack of ethics even while carrying it out, knowing it was wrong?

Eeeee. And thrice eee.

Thanks for the feedback! Am trying to build myself up to writing an epic that answers all of the questions you raise here. To be honest, though, I can't make myself regard lucrecia's characterisation in DoC with credibility, compared to her characterisation in the original game. Through flashback, she was shown in OGC to be focused enough to turn aside from distractions (vincent), but in DoC she's so scatty, desperate, waily, she can't even focus on one project long enough to complete it.

DoC was great for all the bits of information on what went on in Nibelheim, but I kind of ignored the characterisation.

Yes, all that "I'm sorry!" business was a little painful. There was also some odd misdirection with Lucrecia's hairstyle and some of her mannerisms resembling Aeris/th, which threw me.

No need for an epic answer unless you feel like it, and thanks!

My Boob Tomb Raider side was very pleased with DoC, but it was a strange game..."Portions of it were excellent."
