I really like how you've broken this down into two separate view points. It gives such a short piece a lot of impact. I really like too how you bring out the differences between them, using the same language.

Also, the thought of them sparring like that is just hot. :D

What a neat idea. ^___^ The different point of views work really well and they do sound like Hakkai and Gojyo. They wouldn't use the same wording even if they were describing a similar thing, and you managed to capture that, too.

And because I'm a shameless Sanzo fan, I must say that the last sentence was great. Sanzo would know. :D

This was a really creative idea. When I saw the prompt, I just assumed someone would have the two of them duking it out in the backyard or something. I thought it was really original to make the "training" be about Gojyo learning to summon his weapon. ...And what would provide more incentive than being faced with an unlimitered youkai? This was a very neat little read, and I liked it very much. ^^
