Prompt: Transformers Movie, Judy Witwicky/any Autobot: not realizing the effects of one's words/actions - "Well, aren't you just darling!"

"Well, aren't you just darling!"

Knowing full well the are-you-on-something? look she was getting from the attendant, Judy happily contemplated the mess of metal, rust, and grime piled before her. While most people would look at it and only see a pile of scrap waiting to be tossed into the smelter, she could see beneath to the beautiful piece of artwork it had once been, and would be once more in her hands.

Turning to the young man beside her, she said the one thing guaranteed to make him think she truly was nuts.

“I’ll take it.”

“There now, don’t you look handsome!” Standing back to admire her work, Judy couldn’t help the smug tone of her voice as she imagined the looks on the boys faces when they saw how well the ‘Pile of Rust’ cleaned up.

“I can’t wait to show you to the boys.” Pausing only to give an arm one last adjustment, Judy turned and went back into the house, she needed a shower.

The best part, was with how his joints were arranged, she could put him into a different arrangement everyday until she found the perfect one.

‘Now, I just need a name.’

Frenzy had been in Energy Save Mode when he had arrived at the Witwicky Base. He had been coming online once every planetary rotation, listening for signals from his Alpha, Barricade, or any of the other Decepticons.

At first he thought he had been captured and had stared booting up his various systems-only to rediscover the reason he had gone into Energy Save Mode in the first place. The grime and rust he was covered with made it incredibly hard to use, if he tried anything, his speed would be less than 80% of optimum. Not to mention the itch that almost made him break his fingers off trying to sooth.

Still, he had to do what he could, and had started preparing to strike when the Elder Female had placed him in a large tub and dumped the contents of a bucket over him. The fluid he identified as…a cleaning agent? This and the surprise of the female grabbing his right arm and starting to scrub off the dirt and other slag he had acquired during the last few lunar cycles meant that he was still locked in place when his full Sensory Array finally came online.

Frenzy was very gland that his Sensory Array came online before his Movement Generators, because if they had both been working at that moment he would have betrayed himself completely. As it was he was hard-put not to purr loud enough to set the fluid he was into vibrating. He hadn’t been groomed like this, well, since Barricade had wooed him eons ago, working to get Frenzy to accept the larger Decepticon as his Alpha.

Was the human trying to coax him into switching Alphas? It was a possibility, but as far as Frenzies data indicated, none of the Autobots who had come to Earth had Microns, so she shouldn’t have any knowledge of their customs. Also, during his first foray into the Witwicky Base, the younger male, Sam, had kept the Autobots secret from his Elders.

As he waited for his Movement Generators to finish activation, his processors went over the various probabilities of her actions, keeping his joints loosely locked as she lifted him from the tub. After all, if she wanted to groom him why not? Something constructive might as well come of this as he considered his options.

All thought however came to a screeching halt as he heard the distinct noise of a sander, and snapped his optics on in time to see and feel her start to work on the rust that had driven him to distraction every time he had come online.

No one had ever helped Frenzy deal with rust before, at least, no one who wanted to become his Alpha. He’d always had to do it himself, or find a free Micron to help him. If she was trying to get him to switch Alphas, she was doing a good job.

Frenzy let himself coast, enjoying what was probably the best grooming he’d gotten since leaving his tribe. Oh, he and any other Microns who had met had done so, after all it was only proper, especially if they were from the same tribe, but none had ever gone this deep, they had never had the time. The vibrations were triggering electrical synapses that were making him one happy Micron.

He had to force himself to silence when she finished, still wary, though very curious as to what she would be doing next, if she had no intention of hurting or interrogating him, then what did she want?

A flash of light pulled his attention back to the female, the light from what the humans called a blowtorch held in one hand, and a small metal rod in the other, she settled beside him, and to his confusion began to melt the metal onto those areas that had been worn down too thin by the sander. She was also, he noted, building up metal in other areas, especially around his head. If he didn’t know any better, he would think she was laying the foundation for giving him a decent crest!

And yes, it seemed she was going to give him a crest! Watching her put down the metal rod, and pick up a different one, this one looking like what would adorn the Elders of his tribe, he forced himself still as she welded them on. And it wasn’t just his head; she attached other pieces to his exterior. They wouldn’t do much now, but eventually, his system would absorb and replace the metal, creating joints where she had welded, seamless surfaces where she had filled in.

Seeing the flame go out he watched as the female looked him over and nodded to herself, and…walked away? Was she just going to leave him lying on this table, no restraints? No warnings of what would happen if he moved? A scan of the building had shown that he could easily get away and yet…and yet he stayed, wondering what she would do next.

Seeing her pull out a bottle and cloth he hopefully scanned the contents to discover that yes, it was oil. Oil that she worked into every single joint, even those of his adornments-and those rarely got any attention! He found himself swelling his most bother some joints, just to make her linger over them longer. All the while she was talking, and it took him a while to realize that she was talking to him, and listening to her odd chatter he started to get a picture of what she wanted.

His processor working overtime as he worked through all of this he only distantly noted the buffering and cleaning she was doing, getting any ridges smooth, making him shine.

Not even Barricade, who had worked for a human century, had done so much to woo him.

He observed as the human, Judy Witwicky, Female Elder to offspring Sam Witwicky, stood back from the last adjustment she made of his arm. He translated the expression on her face as one of satisfaction. As she walked away from him-posed in the back area of the Base, surrounded by many flora of Earth-Frenzy reached out for the nearest internet connection, he had a lot of thinking to do.

“Are you guys sure about this?”

“Absolutely Sam. When a Micron attaches themselves to someone, they add that person’s name to the ID portion of their comm. signal. That way anyone who talks to them will know they are attached and who they are attached to. And from what Bumblebee recorded, Frenzy has replaced Barricade’s name with your mother’s. He has officially made her his Alpha.” After the last several months, Sam knew that Ratchet was as mystified as Sam was confused.

“So let me see if I’ve got this straight; My mom brings home a rust pile-that in reality is Frenzy, she cleans him up, makes him all shiney, stakes him out in the backyard, had he decides that she’s his, what did you call it? Alpha?”

“Essentially. Though on the bright side, you are never going to have to worry about someone breaking into your house again, Microns are notoriously protective of their Alphas.”

“So what you’re saying is my mom now has the Tranformer equivalent to an over protective, hyper-active guard dog, with Friend-or-Foe capabilities?”

“Yep.”

Sam was so gland he had started keeping aspirin in Bee’s glove box, because he just knew he was going to need some before this night was over.

Running another scan from the roof of the Base, Frenzy checked for any changes. He would wait until the boy and Autobot returned before reclaiming his earlier placement. It had taken him only minutes to break into the necessary Military files and discover what had finally happened to Barricade. Discovering that is former Alpha was no longer functioning had made his decision simple.

He had already run scans on the Base’s own computer systems. He had been shocked at how woeful they were and had quickly moved to replace them with better barriers. He already had plans to better fortify the Base-those in place were severely lacking-though the Autobot had made it very clear that if he did anything before his return that Frenzy would be ‘removed’.

You and I are going to have a talk when I get back!

Really, did the Autobot think he was a proto-form? Of course he wasn’t going to do anything now; He’d wait until the Base was empty, that way he could work uninterrupted.

Quickly finishing another scan, Frenzy chuckled to himself as he greedily reviewed his memory from earlier. The surprise on the younger male and female human’s faces, and Bumblebee’s startlement would live in his circuits forever.

What the heck did happen to Frenzy after the movie anyway? Anyone remember?
