Definitely luxurious and intense--I love how he notices the way her voice changes when her control slips, and how the stem of the water seems to permeate everthing. Mmmm.

Thank you! She has so few lines, but hearing her speak just -- oh. I adore her voice. The character in it. I always find I want to write about how she sounds.

*is a melty happy contented puddle* Oh, yes. This is so beautifully luxuriant and relaxing, and I just kind of want to go soak in a hot tub now. I like the detail of how Drace just wants him to be steady and relentless, it fits so nicely with her character, and just *purr*

The atmosphere, the steam, the heat and the luxury are wonderfully decadent without being overdone.

I have such a soft spot for established relationships, and I adore that there's hinted history in this-- Gabranth knowing not merely Drace's scars but the stories behind them, the way her voice changes, the way she likes to be touched (and I must admit fondness for the sense that he's been somewhat trained, considering how naturally he follows her lead in nearly everything here, ranking officer or no), and also Gabranth's care for the public face of their relationship.

I wondered if where they are is intended to be anywhere near/in Landis, considering Gabranth's homesick response to the food.

Thank you! I'm developing a big established-relationship kink myself, especially with characters as adult as these two. There's something about the familiarity that just makes me happy.

...I don't think they've reached Landis yet -- that'll bring more angst, even if Gabranth doesn't say it. But sister_coyote had just posted these recipes the other day, and mentioned Mama Ronsenburg making risotto-type dishes, and I couldn't resist. ^^

The mention of such a rice dish did remind me of sister_coyote's recipes, so I thought that might be the inspiration.
