Out of all my prompts, this was the one I thought was least likely to get picked up. It also just so happened to be the prompt I was probably hoping for the most, so needless to say I was absolutely thrilled to see this.

I love the basic idea here; bittersweet and perfect. There's some really poignant lines in here, especially "her butterfly had become a knife" and what Doug said about dying -- I must admit that the latter actually made me cry. And you captured the characters so well, they both felt completely IC to me; it really felt like this, this would really be what Betsy would say to Doug if only she'd have the chance.

Really, I'm sitting here sniffling and already re-reading it. It's just everything I could've hoped for and more. I utterly love it! Thank you so very much for writing this ♡

Thank you so much for your comments, I'm really pleased you liked my story. I pretty much got through adolescence reading X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor, Excalibur etc. I haven't really followed any of Marvels mutant titles since the early 90's but when I saw your prompt I had to snag it. Pre-ninja Psylocke was one of my favorite characters and I always loved the hints that there might be some sort of a romance blossoming between her and Doug.
