OH GOD. Kill me now.

I-- I never thought this would actually get filled and I'm only just dipping my toes back in the water after a good, long hiatus and agskdglas. Oh drat, I'm... so late. /fails at life

But thank you so, so much for the fill. I loved every moment of it. It's... strangely fitting that this is from Lavi's POV. Lavi is, for all that he tries to be unattached and unaffected, is the most emotionally fragile out of the OT4, I think. He is practically at war with himself, his very identity - the nature of everything in D.Gray-Man is... terribly impermanent (even friends and family - just look at Lenalee struggling to prevent that at all costs), but Lavi's life is even more so, with all the traveling from one place to another, never staying long enough for any adopted identity to leave a mark (though 'Lavi' is obviously different). So it makes sense that in a moment of weakness he would want some reassurance that at least some things in his life would remain constant - only in this case, that would be his comrades, ( ... )

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! :D I was pretty late on filling, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I totally agree with your assessment of Lavi. To me he is not only incredibly emotionally fragile, he has also had very little in his life, aside from Bookman himself, that is consistent. Earning some other source of consistency makes him even more scared of losing it, since in his experience it never lasts, and the Order, I think, is the longest bout of stability he's had in a long time. Falling into his Lavi persona is so tempting that he is almost incapable of resisting it.

I do actually have a little more OT4 fic. I ship pretty much everyone with everyone in D.Gray, with few exceptions, but OT4 is my favorite. Check me out on AO3.

Oh my God, I don't know how I'm just coming across this now, but this is spectacular. You've got Lavi down perfectly, imo, and his absolute failure as a Bookman regarding his feelings for the three of them will always be my FAVORITE THING EVER. Your imagery is wonderful (He smiles like moonlight and falling stars, brilliant and beautiful and sad. He smiles with something lost in his eyes LIKE WHAT EVEN) and I love the motif of destruction you used while keeping the four of them whole, damaged as they are.

BASICALLY I JUST WANT TO BASK IN THIS OT4 FOREVER BECAUSE THEY ARE FLAWLESS.
