Microft working for Torchwood was a nice touch. I sincerely want to see more of this. I can feel his burning need to know more and I love your comparison of it to a disease.

Sherlock and the Doctor, a combination which wreak havoc in our world. What Sherlock never considered, was what would happen if the Doctor took HIM as his next companion. Now that could be a whole new series of fun and games.
