Fritzy is now 19 lbs and "perfect," according to his doctor. I concur.

Okay -- it was a one-night aberation. Fritzy's sleep is back to normal. We suspect it's related to separation anxiety. He's had two periods of screwed-up sleep like that, and each time it was after a day where I had gone out on my own, and Fritz had cried and cried when C. tried to put him down for a nap. After almost two weeks of Fritz waking up just once a night again, last night we had another up-every-30-minutes night. Why?!? WHY!?!?!?

So, not to alarm anyone or anything, but there was apparently a failed suicide bombing attempt at Bilkent today. Two "militant leftists" posed as students and tried to attack a law professor, who used to be a cabinet minister. His bodyguards prevented the attack, but there was a "small explosion" and one of the attackers was injured. This was right ( Read more... )

Okay, Fritzy's sleep is all back to normal now. Phew! That was a super rough few days. I have reverted to holding him for his naps. It's not that big a deal for me -- two or three hours of quiet and reading and cuddling is better than an hour-long battle of wills that results in a 30 minute nap and a grumpy baby. Mr. Fritz woke up every 45 minutes last night until 4:00 a.m., and then he slept through to 7:00. What the heck was that?!?!

Please please please let this be a fluke and not the start of a new trend!

Right -- after consultation with the co-parent and extensive (but probably pointless) research, we've got a modified crib-nap plan. I'm going to put him in the crib for naps #1 and #3, which are usually short anyway. He'll get used to napping in the crib without losing too much sleep.
