This wasn't a particularly spectacular observation. He stirred like he did every morning, sound of mind, sound of body, and ready to tackle another day (if also ready to tackle some of his hard-won luxuries, such as sleeping in).

Sleepily, he moved one hand to dislodge Wade's arm from wherever it had wound up this time.

Elsewhere in the house, there was a slightly more familiar visitor checking in on Jan.

"Hello there," Jean said, picking the now awake child up out of her bed to get a look at her. "My, aren't you big."

"...would be perfect," Jean replied, not even trying to stifle the amused grin. "Would you like me to help?"

"Thanks," he said, hoisting a giggling Jan further up his shoulders. "She'll appreciate it, too."

"You can tell me what I've missed." Like she didn't already know.

"How much do you know?" was a logical first question, hence, even as he paced towards the hallway.

"A bit." Lot. All of it. Oh, being the supreme pyschokinetic force int he world. "But nothing from you yourself."

"Considering that whoever wakes up after you fade on Monday will remember most of this weekend," Nate noted, setting Jan down on his way to the kitchen, "You can understand I'm a little leery of sharing."

"What you're okay with her knowing," Jean replied easily, looking around the room for a moment before following.

"I came here after Providence blew up, and saved Jan," he said, smoothly. "That'll have to do."

"And now have a family."

"A very strange family," Nathan allowed, smiling at her, "But that isn't exactly something new for either of us."

"But it's still family." Even when certain fathers try to kill certain sons and are shacked up with certain blondes.

"Yes..."

He got out a packet of the chocolate mix, leaving a clapping Jan to entertain Jean for a few moments.

"Choc'late," she cooed.

Jean smiled at her again, glancing back at Nathan. "May I?"

"Of course." He poured some water into the cooker.

Jan's hands were climbing back to her sash.

It was shiny, after all.

"You're going to be very special," Jean told her, pulling her up again. "Did you know that?"
