There was still a lot of paperwork to catch up on after he'd been a lemming for several days. So Cable was doing just that - the island had remained relatively peaceful, so there wasn't that much to catch up on. Still, there were defenses to check, payrolls to scrutinize, and radio to catch up on

Jamie really didn't have a good reason to be at Wellspring. Except maybe to escape the wrath of a certain principal.

Actually that was probably a pretty good reason.

"Ah! Cable," Jamie said coming in through the door. "What a surprise to find you here."

Yes. Idle talk will save him.

"Madrox," Cable said, in a tone of voice that implied that idle talk really wouldn't save him.

But before Cable could get up to scoop Jan up and see what the hell he was here for, the girl had ran at the man already. Or waddled. As fast as her legs could. "JAM!"

This wasn't because she knew Jamie's name, mind. She just liked jam.

"Oh look. It's either the savior or the person who will lead our race to doom," Jamie said kneeling down. "How's that whole daddy thing coming along?"

Cable? Cable was coming up at rapid speed, hovering. It was possible he was feeling a little more protective after turning into a lemming. Animal transformations did that to you. "Fine," he said, "What do you want?"

He was going to pick Jan up telekinetically, at this rate.

"Jam," Jan informed him. "Deahd."

Rikku had a hot date to get to, and some guests to pester, but she didn't remember who opened the store on Sundays or Mondays, and it might not be them, so she wanted to poke her head in and see if she could catch her boss.

And, well, the wee one he had with him, too. She needed to say good-bye to both.

"Hi," she said softly.

"Rikku," Nathan answered, looking up from his paperwork.

"Reeeee," Jan contributed. She was trying to waddle up to Rikku again; Cable got up to follow her as she did just that much.

"Helloooo, baby girl," Rikku cooed, scooping up Jan and placing a kiss on her cheek. So adorable.

"And hi," she said, chewing on her lower lip. "I, uh. Don't think I told you I have to resign, did I?"

"You didn't," Cable said, mildly, failing to look angry in the slightest. "But considering, I'm not very surprised... And I think I have to offer you my congratulations on graduating."
