I subscribe to e-mail updates from Dr. Jon/Pet Place, and here's what I received today:
I have a wonderful video for you today. I love all dogs but one of my favorite breeds is the Golden Retriever. In general, they are great dogs with wonderful souls. I was looking for a good video to share with you and this one touched me.

Cool. One of our neighbors now has four dogs living with her. She provided temporary homes for some others, but these four she hasn't been able to part with. One is a golden retriever, one is a pit bull, and the other two are good ole' mutts of some kind (one big, one medium-sized). I believe they all came from West Virginia, as did one of the other neighbors' beautiful collie.

We had another stray in the neighborhood the other day. A little shitzu that showed up on a neighbor's doorstep. Her son is one of the kids that I work with at the school, and they came over to show me the dog, which they'd already taken around the neighborhood and taken to the vet, with no luck on finding an owner. Mom was in the process of deciding whether to keep the dog, which the little boy was already very attached to. Stitch was actually pretty friendly to this one, but then he usually gets along better with smaller female dogs (less threatening to him, perhaps?).

Oh yeah-- the dogs in that first paragraph are all rescued dogs, as you probasbly figured, but as I forgot to mention.
