Matthew decided to finish his breakfast on the rooftop of the cafeteria building in order to not be disturbed by his peers-especially by Allison and Arthur. Matthew leaned against the brick building with his tray on his lap as he took a bit of his pancakes.

"Williams!" a voice called as the rooftop door beside him swung open, so much for alone time. Matthew looked over his shoulder to see the Prussian senior, Gilbert Weillschmidt standing there.

"Oh, it's you," Matthew said, turning his head back to his food and continued to eat his pancakes.

"I didn't see you in the cafeteria, so I decided that I would look for you," Gilbert announced. "And by my amazingly awesome skills I have tracked you down."

Matthew just stared at Gilbert blankly for a little bit then redirected his focused back on his pancakes. Whenever Gilbert talked to him, he always waned something and Matthew knew exactly what Gilbert wanted. "You just want some maple syrup from me."

"Caught me red handed," Gilbert laughed obnoxiously. "So where's the goods?"

"First off, don't make maple syrup sound like some sort of drug. Second, I didn't bring any with me today," Matthew stated.

Gilbert immediately ran up to Matthew taking a seat next to Matthew, and placed his hand on Matthew's forehead.

"What are you doing?" Matthew asked.

"Making sure you're not sick," Gilbert said in a matter-of-fact tone while he was still checking Matthew if he was sick or not. "You never forget maple syrup."

"Knock it off," Matthew grumbled, smacking Gilbert's hand away. "I just have a lot on my mind, is that ok?"

"So…" Gilbert started, clearly ignoring Matthew's scowling. "Is it girl problems?"

Matthew just stared at Gilbert. How did he know?

"Francis told me," Gilbert stated, answering silent question exchanged between the two.

Of course he did. Matthew's eyes narrowed; he suddenly had a craving frog legs, and he didn't want the amphibian.

"He didn't get specific. Just 'Matthieu is having girl problems mon cher'," Gilbert said, horribly imitating Francis' French accent.

"I don't want to talk about it," Matthew replied.

"Don't have to," Gilbert stated. "But you know I'm here for you if you need to talk to someone since you know I'm such an awesome friend."

"Of course you are," Matthew genuinely smiled for the first time all day.

"Hey, I'm serious you know," Gilbert said.

"I know," Matthew replied. "Thanks."

"No problem," Gilbert grinned. It actually reminded Matthew of Allison's hundred-watt smile, which lit up a room in seconds. Damn. Was there anything that wouldn't remind him of his sister now?

Gilbert decided to sit up on the rooftop with Matthew and finish his breakfast there, and they continued to have mindless chatter, which thankfully for Matthew didn't have any mentions of Arthur or Allison since he wouldn't know how to talk about the two without wanting to ram his head into the brick wall behind him. But eventually the school bell rang signaling students to start making their way to homeroom. Matthew and Gilbert decided to put their conversation on hold until another time.

When Matthew got to class he was the last one to arrive. Allison had already taken her seat in the back by the door Mathew observed as he made his way across the room from her in the back by the window.

Until sixth period, which was his study period, Matthew only paid enough attention to answer questions whenever a teacher asked him during class. Even if he was a playboy, Matthew was still a good student academic wise. With nothing better to do Matthew decided to go to the library and continue to read the book, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, which was something Francis recommended to him. Matthew was surprised when he realized it was actually a pretty good read. Currently, he as was about three-quarters of the way done with the book and with another study period Matthew could easily finish it.

"Um… Mattie?..." Matthew heard a timid voice say; he looked up from his book to see the Welsh girl-who was also Arthur Kirkland's sister-Eira Kirkland standing before him.

"Hi Eira," Matthew said warmly. Even if Eira was Arthur's sister, and he didn't particularly like Arthur at this moment, Matthew knew Eira did nothing wrong and she was someone he did regard a friend.

"Are you busy?" Eira asked.

"Not really," Matthew replied, closing his book and putting it on the table.

"So you wouldn't mind if we talked then?" Eira asked.

"Whatever makes you happy," Matthew said.

"Well um… Mattie. I'm not r-really sure how to put this," Eira said fumbling to find the right words.

"Eira, relax and breathe," Matthew instructed and Eira did what she was told. "Better?"

"Yes," Eira replied.

"Good," Matthew smiled.

"Ok since I can't phrase this in a better way, I'm just going to come out and say it," Eira stated. "Mattie, I like you."

"I like you too," Matthew replied.

"No I mean I like you," Eira blushed. "And I always have."

Matthew was not sure what to say, then again how many people know what exactly to say when they are in shock. Matthew did not expect a confession from whom he would consider one of his closest friends. And to top it all off she always liked him, meaning even back to the beginning of freshman year when he was "Invisible Mattie" when they first met, she liked him. That would explain why she noticed him, and knew who he was and never mixed him up with his sister like others were so fond of doing before.

Matthew stared into Eira's anxious eyes. This girl, his friend, Eira, she should be the one he likes not Allison (not that he did like Allison that way). Eira was there for him and always a good friend, and even when he changed from the timid, unnoticeable Mattie to outspoken, playboy Matthew Williams, Eira stuck by his side.

"How about we give it a try then?" Matthew asked, grabbing Eira's hand and bring her into the secluded part of the library. Matthew then began to kiss her, and Eira softly let out a moan of pleasure. Slowly without breaking the kiss, they moved slowly to the wall, until Eira was up against it and couldn't move anymore. Matthew deepened the kiss and began to unbutton the top of Eira's shirt, moving it down her shoulder as he began to nip her neck working his way down to her collarbone and back over to her shoulder. Eira simply let out another moan and a smile formed on Matthew's lips while he continued to nip away at her shoulder.

This is how it should be. Playboy Matthew should be falling in love with girls like Eira, not his sister.

Matthew placed his hang on Eira's leg and slowly had it creep upwards, until his hand was up her skirt and massaged her thigh. He looked into Eira's eyes again, such warmth, compassion and kindness. This is what he wanted. What he should want.

After briefly staring into each other's eyes, Matthew went back to kissing Eira on the lips, and made it deeper than before. He then pressed his tongue against her lips asking for entrance, and Eira complied with Matthew's request and opened her mouth and allowed Matthew's tongue to roam throughout her mouth.

Everything was going fine until Matthew closed his eyes as he began to mix up past and current events. Eira's moaning began to sound a lot like Allison's. Then the mental image of Arthur and Allison started to play in his head; the entire scene from the student council office flashed before his eyes. Startled, Matthew opened his eyes, and when he did he was surprised to see not Eira, but Allison standing there in front of him, and jumped back, but as soon as he did Allison became Eira again.

"What's wrong Mattie?" Eira asked.

"I don't think I can do this," Matthew replied.

"Is it another girl?" Eira asked.

"No… kinda… maybe… I dunno," Matthew answered truthfully.

"Mattie," Eira started, as she walked up to him and took a hold of his hands. "I waited two years for this. I can wait a couple more days. I don't want to pressure you into anything,"

"I don't want to hurt you Eira," Matthew said.

"I know you don't," Eira smiled.

Eira was so sweet and kind. In the Kirkland family, Eira was the forgotten child much like Matthew was before he changed himself. Out of everyone he knew, Matthew could probably relate the most to Eira. A sweet and nostalgic taste, Eira was definitely like cinnamon.

"So take you time Mattie. I'll be waiting," Eira said, as she buttoned her shirt back up to the refined clean look it had before she entered the library, and headed out the door. All Matthew could do was stand there and watch her back as she left the room.

After standing in silence by himself for five minutes, Matthew went back to his seat and sat back down and idly looked at his book.

So much for finishing it this study period.
