You were standing outside your bedroom door, but you could sense the amount of angst and tension in the air beyond the white wooden door. You knew you couldn't leave him in all that pain and suffering by himself, after all he was your husband to be. You loved him greatly-more than life itself.

"Kurama," you said, while knocking on the door. "Can I come in?"

No reply. No doubt Kurama was just trying to tune you out. He wanted to be by himself, and as much as you respected his opinion, he was in no state to be by himself. You knew when someone was suffering the most that is the time to have someone by your side.

You tried turning the knob, but Kurama locked the door. He anticipated you wanting to come in. You huffed in frustration. He just had to be difficult. You took a bobby pin out of your hair to try to pick the lock, but it was no good. Kurama took precaution of that too. There was really only one option left for you.

You walked out the house and went to the side of the house, where you stood in front of the large cherry blossom tree. You grabbed the lowest branch and started climbing. One of the tree's branches reached over to your bedroom window, wear Kurama was, so that was your method of entering. You slowly made your way up the tree and eventually got to the height you needed to your bedroom window. You keeled down, so you could crawl along the branch over to the window.

The branch didn't reach all the way to the window, but it was close enough to get into the bedroom if the window was open. You knocked on the window to see Kurama look up fro the bed with a shocked expression on his face.

"Kurama, open this window immediately," you said. At this time Kurama regained composure and his face bared no emotion but sadness and grief. He pretty much gave you the "not now" look and turned his body to face the opposite side of the window.

If someone had told you that you were going to need to break into your own home because your fiancé had gone completely emo, you would have laughed at his or her face. You leaned closer to the window, trying to open it with one hand. It was no good. You simply didn't have enough strength to open the window with one hand, so you put your other hand out to open the window.

After wrestling with the window for a good five minutes you finally got it to open a bit. You then grabbed the window from the bottom and pushed it up.

Success at last you thought. You sat back down for a bit, for a bit of a breather from your workout with the window. You never knew how exhausting it could be to open a window.

"Kurama I'm coming in now," you announced as you stood up. Kurama turned over to see you held to the newly opened window, but nothing prepared him for the next second. You mistook a step, missing the branch below you and lost your balance. You could only watch how the once eye level window, quickly disappear from your vision. You shut your eyes in anticipation in hitting the ground below you.

To your surprise it never came, in a split second Kurama was over by the window and had grabbed your right arm. Slowly, Kurama brought you up back into the room, and when you were fully in, he grabbed you into a tight embrace.

"What on earth were you thinking?" Kurama asked, you could tell by his tone he was holding back his frustration.

"That I needed to see you. That I couldn't leave you by yourself," you replied.

"You almost got killed just now," Kurama said in a firm tone. "What ever made you consider climbing a tree to enter a room?"

"You of course," you replied curtly. You looked into your fiancé's sparkling emerald green eyes; he seemed to be in so much pain. You couldn't take seeing the pain on his face and brought him into an embrace. "I couldn't possibly leave you alone."

"It's not worth getting yourself killed over," Kurama said in a slightly peeved tone.

"Hey you're the one who took away practically all the safe options, and I don't exactly fit into the air vents," you retorted. "But that a side, you should know by now I would gladly put my life in danger if it meant seeing you."

"I'm not worth getting killed over," Kurama said sternly.

"Yes. You. Are." you replied. "Kurama, you never see the amazing person you truly are. If you weren't a good person, I wouldn't be here with you now, I wouldn't love you so much."

"I'm not a good person. I'm sure my mother hates me now," Kurama said.

"You saved their lives! You protected them! How could you ever think she would hate you for that?" you asked, you simply couldn't follow his logic. If he protected them, they would surely be grateful, not spiteful.

"Because now they know what I truly am. A demon," Kurama said in sadness, anger and frustration, all at once. "A demon that took away her human child, someone who always thought low of her in comparisons to himself."

"So you think Shiori-san will throw away those twenty-five years of kindness? Compassion? And loving? Just because she find out her son is not normal?" you said. "She truly loves you Kurama. To her, you'll always be her Shuuichi."

"You don't know that," he said.

"And neither do you," you replied. "After fighting that demon you bolted from the house and ran home without letting Shiori-san say anything."

"Because I know what she'll say, 'You took away my precious son and lied to me your entire life.'," Kurama said, trying to impersonate his mother's voice.

"Let me tell you something Kurama, one: you fail at impersonations. Never do it again," you teased, but quickly changed your mood and became more serious.

"And two," you looked up to his emerald orbs and embraced him once again. "She loves you, Kurama. A lot. And you love her too! And if you truly love Shiori-san, then that feeling will overpower anything else and everything will be all right."

"How do you always know what to say to make me feel better?" Kurama asked.

"I was told I should work for Hallmark before," you joked.

"You should really consider that," Kurama replied.

"I'll think about it," you smiled. "Do you think you can handle going back to see Shiori-san now?"

"Will you be with me?" Kurama asked.

"Of course," you replied.

"Then yes, because I can face anything with you, and your Hallmark like tendencies," Kurama said. He smiled at you, and you smiled back. You took his hand and walked back to Shiori-san's house. Surely she would be able to show Kurama how much of a good person he truly is.
