8th April 1920 - The Venus de Milo is found on the island of Milos. It was found by peasant named Yorgos Kentrotas, inside a buried niche within the ancient city ruins of Milos, the current village of Tripiti. She was pretty badass, wasn't she? I hadn't heard of her either - but what was really lovely was that apparently she and her husband were very in love - he once got disciplined for leaving his post to go be with her, and their letters were full of innuendoes. It's a lovely story!
