In Memory of Seth Vidal

Today, I said goodbye to Seth Vidal. Eunice, his partner, asked me to speak at his funeral, on behalf of those of us in the open source community. I've read a lot of fantastic remembrances in the last several days, and honestly, I'd tried and failed to write my own several times. Oh wow. I've been out of touch lately and had no idea this had happened. I'm so sorry to hear it, and offer my sincerest condolences to you and everyone close to him. :(

This are really deep words. I'm stunned for what happened. I did not know him but from the words I read here, I am really sure he was a great guy, great example to us.

My condolences to all his loved ones...

I only knew Seth a little on IRC, many years ago but his death was still a big shock. Thanks for sharing what you write.

The Linux community lost recently two very active and dedicate people in bike accidents . Young people! A few months ago, Evgeni Donodov, in Sao Carlos, Brazil; and now Seth Vidal, in Durham, NC, USA. We will dearly miss both of them. Just wish that traffic could be more safe and we still could enjoy their company.
