I don't know that Orwell would be proud. I think that Orwell was trying to steer us away from this sort of thing. I think he'd be disgusted to see what's happening.

You think? Why do you think that I call them "Christo-fascists"? Veneration of the state, check. Strict control of the intellectual dialogue? Check. Ignoring those scientific facts that contradict their orthodoxy? Check. So many similarities. Pat's Little Black Book is no better than Mao's Little Red Book.
Ugh...damn Thought Police! George Orwell knew too much, yet, I think it was one of the most foretelling and useful works we've ever known. I'm sure it'll be eventually banned from discussion one day as well. @_@
