People need to stop looking to others to take care of all their shit. People just take for granted that when tragedy happens they can look up to some benevolent force to save them. As if it's someone else's responsibility to clean up all the mess. That's crap. The best thing to do in New Orleans is leave.

You'd really let that happen to that city? It sounds as if you want that to happen to that city. Why? Wouldn't you feel a sense of urgency and duty to help your home town rebuild and prosper, or am I using outdated feelings like a sense of devotion to one's home? And it's not as if their looking for help is exactly out of line. They were promised it with half-assed follow-through.

Personally, if my home town was totaled by something like that, I'd hope that more people would jump in to revive it as quickly as possible, and that whoever was in charge of disaster aide didn't drop the ball as swiftly as they did here. We're spending billions destroying other people's homeland, but neglecting to help rebuild our own cities? A tad backwards if you ask me.
