Out Past the Edge of What They Know

I can't wholly believe it's happened and there's no more planning or fretting, just memories. A good friend recommended that I write everything down before I forget it, and this is my attempt at that. I'm not sure how coherent it will be, but I'll do my best ( Read more... )

Aw... I will never forget the moment I was standing under that big tree, with the UU guy, and Alex came out the door and down the asile of guests. It was....

Like that. I knew I was the luckiest guy on the planet. Even the fact that my moron brother forgot the rings did nothing to change that instant in my mind :-)

I'm glad to see you are getting this all down. I wish I'd written anything at all down at my wedding - I have no recall of where my mind was at then, or what I was thinking of things.

It was a fantastic service, and I loved the mix of it. The two of you looked so pleased and bright. It helped to share a view into what you two are together, what you have made together, and what is to come.

After the wedding proper, when I found my way to you, the energy gathered about you, and radiant mark on your forehead, just about took my words away. I've now seen sigils on a person dying, on a person in the late stages of pregnancy, and on a new bride. Thank you for that experience. It will stick with me.

Lastly, thank you again for doing such a fantastic job of matching us up to a table. I think it took us all about 15 seconds to connect, and then it was like we were with old friends who had shared many a party with us. Delightful!

I would definitely have recognised the Who theme - I just listened. We didn't hear the synth, just the strings. REALLY changes how recogniseable such an iconic theme is to a non-fan. Also made the bit about a minute in, where you arrived, almost sinister.

I thought it was a really lovely wedding. Really *you* (both of you).
