Newbie post!

Well, not really. I've been lurking for a while, and while I do not have a fic, I have a request.

I'm going second hand book shopping later today. Are there any books that are epic in Spock/McCoy slashness that I should be made aware of to keep my eyes open? Even if their friendship dynamics are amazing, I love those too.

Diane Duane's "Doctor's Orders", while not technically slashy, does have a focus on McCoy with Spock being a close second. And, while I personally didn't like how she set it up with half the book being Vulcan's matriarchal past, Duane's "Spock's World" has a nice focus on Spock with McCoy doing some awesome background plot fixing.

I'd certainly encourage reading the two, if not owning.

Thanks! I found Spock's World, and look forward to it, but couldn't find Doctor's orders anywhere. I think I have to go into the city to find them, maybe...

I got 'Doctors Orders' from Amazon quite cheaply, just a hint there :)

"Crucible: McCoy Provenance of Shadows" and "Crucible: Spock The Fire and the Rose" both by David R. George III are good ones.

Does your library have access to an interlibrary exchange program you could request them through? Because mine didn't either, but other libraries in the state did.

Dreams of the Raven by Carmen Carter has some scenes that could be taken as slashy (If nothing else, it makes me want to write slash fic so ya know). But Doctor's Orders is one of the best ones out there for McCoy.

If you want to read some good ones off the internet, K. V. Wylie's Site has some very good TOS S/M. Also on fanfiction.net in the original seires division, ,there is a very well written, plot driven story by Nemo the everbeing. I have it somewhere, can't remember the name but it has something about blue in the title. hope you can find it because it is very well done. After reading slash fanfiction, I don't read any of the books that are released since the authors have to follow strict protocols. I believe many of them find those very constrictive.

Thanks for you recs. I will be sure to read them. The story I was refering to I found. It is called Things that Never Happened I Blue by Nemo the Everbeing. It is on fanfiction.net. It is one of my favorites. I tried copying the address but it didin't work. Then I found it on page 8. I hope this will get you there cause think you would like this unusual story.
