Summary: After the destruction of the space amoeba in the Gamma 7-A system, Spock and Dr. McCoy have a terse moment in sickbay. Revelations are made.

Awe dutchtulips! I LOVE this! You write the best scenes between these two! When you posted your other story, "The Needs of the One" I was jumping for joy! Oh my gosh, you write these scenes so spot on! How I wish that your scenes had been in the actual series!!! Yowsa! My favorite laugh out loud line was this one:

And again that eyebrow arched at him. "Not to be impolite, Doctor, but quite frankly, it was the only way to shut you up."

That was just so great! I can just see McCoy spouting off, not letting Spock get a word in edge wise, and then Spock grabbing him and kissing him to shut him up. I can also see McCoy shocked at first, struggling, and then giving in to the kiss and letting his feelings for Spock come out.

I adored this.
You really manage to show why I love the idea of these two together. I can't get enough of how you write Spock's "fascination" toward McCoy's apparent irrational nature.

It never ceased to fascinate him. The unabashed illogic, the flagrant emotionalism, the sheer impetuous nature; they all combined to create a personality that Spock never believed he could ever find even remotely worth his interest, his patience, or his time, but - he did. The doctor was an endless challenge to him, and it appealed to his intellectual nature. McCoy was indeed right about another thing - it was something that Spock found very difficult to resist.

It's spot on, really.

Okay, first of all - I LOVE your icon. Whenever I watch SFS and it gets to that scene, I freaking lose it every time. xD

Secondly, thank you for the nice words! It seems we're drawn to S/Mc for the same reasons. Personally I enjoy thinking of them as Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy in space. ;) I'm happy you liked the fic!

I love this description so much!!! It's perfect! I guess that's why you have them down so well. I adore your fics. I don't always find the time to comment but I always read one way or another and get a big smile on my face. It was great to see Spock's POV here.
