Airports are strange places. Strangely boring that is.

Strangely boring that is.

Not for the architecture that can sometimes be sterile, cold and unnerving.
Not for the hallways and sidewalks teeming with people.
Not for the joy writ when stepping out into the arrivals section and seeing your loved one waiting for you.
Not for the disappointment at knowing that no one is waiting for you outside
Not for the pain at leaving someone behind at the departures
Not for the anxiety and the twitches that are the mark of a first time traveller
Not for the nonchalance of a frequent traveller
Not for the exhaustion of a traveller who is back home
and for all the myriad expressions, the gamut of emotions that converge at the place, it's strange indeed.

Airports are boring only at night, when all the shops are closed and there's not enough light to photograph aircraft.

I've spent tons of hours photographing metal birds at international airports, shopping/grabbing coffee/internet surfing in between.

I'd much rather have spent them doing something else. I love traveling. I hate flying.
