I'm sorry I can't help you with the specific fic, but it sure sounds like something I'd read!

I do, however, have a fic that I've recc'd in comments here before, and if you've come across it before I'm sorry. It sorta kinda fits your description of Jess meeting Sam after the apocalypse, but not the apocalypse of the cannon series with Lucifer and that jazz. A virus decimated the U.S after the pilot episode and Jess is the only survivor living in Palo Alto after the apocalypse, and she meets Sam again after surviving for maybe 4 years or more on her own, I don't remember.
