I don't remember much, but it's an older fic, on the longer side. Definitely high school. Sam (possibly girl Sam) tells some kids at school that he's dating Dean, but he isn't, it's before anything wincesty happens between them. He asks Dean if he'd play along and Dean agrees. I'm not sure if this is the one you are referring to, but it is definitely similar. It's called Nothing We Can't Handle. I don't remember a bonfire part though.

That sounds like Becoming What We Pretend To Be by locknkey. It was from the 2014 Big Bang.

Summary: In a fit of pique Sam brags to his high school friends that he can get Dean as his boyfriend. Dean's never been able to say no to Sam. Pretense is a slippery-slope when you're romancing your brother and it's all too easy to for the lines between what's real and what's fake to become blurred.
