One of the big appeals of Supernatural (besides the charms of the leads, of course *g*) is the use of actual myths in the storylines. And some of the best stories follow the same route, create new casefiles from old myths. So, writers, how do you best go about this? How do you research your myths or create your monsters, build up your plots? And readers, what scares you, what excites you, what makes you want to read more?
