Important Modly Announcement

Jan 28, 2011 21:22

There will be a small change in the Roles - effective immediately.

From now on, the Judas role will be "unknown" to the recipient - the Judas will not know they are the Judas. This is to add another level of 'mystery' to the game, as well as to further prevent the 'call' for self-sacrificing on the part of the recipient of the role ( Read more... )

:/
i don't know how i feel about this.
i mean it just seems like another yakuza option.

at least with the judas you were able to prepare yourself for the fact that you could possibly be turned into an assassin.
but if they don't even know?
then its just another possible yakuza.
its not really fair to them.

not to mention in this game the assassins suddenly have an extra chance to get a new assassin.

Well ... I get what you're saying.

But I think people have started to go on that self-sacrificing route a bit too much when they become the Judas, and that's not really fair to the Assassins - if the Judas is just always gonna want to 'kill themselves' or whatever.

Now if the Judas would just ... I don't know, accept their fate or something, it wouldn't be so bad.

I don't know. Maybe the kinks still need to be worked out a bit, but for now, the self-sacrificing is just ... putting a damper on things.

I agree, but just because it happened one time doesn't mean that its always going to be like that.

Not knowing that you have a role that could cause you to switch sides isn't very fair.

It reminds me of when JJMafia had those innocent and assassin roles when you thought you were something but in reality you were on the other side.

I'm sorry if my actions today lead you to this. I just saw an opportunity to take a potential future assassin out and decided to take it. Rarely is an assassin taken day 1 anyway.

Would this silent Judas role be in addition to the Yakuza or instead of?

It wasn't just your actions :) I've seen the Judas behave in such a way in a lot of games, and it's almost become a common thing, which I don't think is very fair to the assassins.

For this round, it's in addition of (since I'm not gonna take the Yakuza's role away from them here).

For future rounds *shrugs* I don't know yet. Like I said to Nikki, some of the kinks probably still need to be worked on.

Well, we all know how I feel about the yakuza, but I understand why you are doing this for the current round.

Maybe in the future, rebalance the game so that the assassins don't rely/hope for the judas/yakuza victim?
