They’ve been rounding up Dr. Kripke’s experiments for several months now, but Jared is continually surprised by the sheer variety of critters on the island. Just last week, Murray’s team found a real mermaid underneath a waterfall. She’s got the mind of a fish, sadly, even if her upper half is all babe, and Jared can’t see much use for her. Topping the bill at an exotic dinner party as the main course, maybe. There are people who would pay top dollar for that sort of thing ( ... )

Wanted to punch Jared when he used the shock collar, but I love him again for the ending lol.

This was excellent. So Sci-Fi Rich! I could actually visualize the creature Jenny. The emotions from Jared were well written, but those unspoken emotional physical cues from Jenny spoke volumes, and were amazing, and definitely transmitted to me the reader. The sadness of all of the creatures identified was so overwhelming - They didn't ask to be created, and they have such conflicting, monstrous genetic combinations that they can't do more than suffer. Jenny's poor existence even with Jared, who has been captured by the pheromones, and lust for him will be one of sex slave, or pet - most likely permanently collard ( ... )
