Supernatural; Sam and Dean; g; 1110 words
"The kite-eating tree doesn't stand a chance."

Written for the spnflashfic prompt "hidden talents." Thanks to luzdeestrellas and amberlynne for looking it over.

The Kite-Eating Tree is a deciduous tree of indeterminate type. According to Charlie Brown, it is impossible to tell a kite-eating tree from non-kite-eating by sight until it catches a kite in its branches, which it slowly devours. )

Oh, I love the way Sam is all upset and doesn't really know why, and I love finding out why, and I love Dean-with-kids, because he's *so good* with them, and it always reminds me of how good he must have been with Sam, and then you went on into how good he was with Sam, and. yay! :) Thanks for this!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, I think Dean being so good with kids is definitely a residual of how good he was with Sam growing up.

This is so adorable. I love it. Sam all worried, and then we learn why and it's just...awwwe! And I just took a Winnie-the-Pooh psychology quiz that had all these quotes from the book, and for some reason your prose really reminded me of A. A. Milne. Lovely!

This is gorgeous. I love how you tied it back into their childhood.

God, Dean with kids just *melts* me, and I also loved overprotective Sam (who probably subconsciously remembered that broken wrist). This was just lovely.

Thanks so much! I'm so happy you liked it. I adore Dean with kids, and yeah, I think Sam was totally subconsciously recalling the last time they flew a kite. *g*
