New feature: episode discussion posts
Hi everyone! Just to give you a tiny heads-up, we will be introducing a new thing in the community this week. When the show comes back from hiatus, there will be episode discussion posts.
We hope that this will encourage people to participate and that it will generate more activity around here, so that we get to hear what you guys are thinking. The episode discussion is open for pretty much anything related to what the episode has in the way of visual content: squee over the color of Sam's shirt or the amount of dirt on the Impala, comments on how there was a beautiful shot right before the commercials, questions about what this all means, links to other posts talking about the prettiness of the episode, talk about the technical stuff like framing, lighting etc. There is no need to post screencaps or to form coherent sentences. If someone is inspired to write meta over something mentioned in the discussion, then by all means, but the discussion is meant to be a very informal affair.
To avoid unnecessary spam, the episode discussion post will be merged with the episode prompt post and this hybrid will be posted on Saturday. If you're interested in writing the sort of meta that the episode prompts are for (and is known in the community as "The Visual Story"), you don't have to wait until the new prompt post is up; simply follow the instructions on one of the older prompt posts. If you want to discuss older episodes, you should probably make a new post, so that the discussion won't be buried in a post about an unrelated episode.
We also welcome other ideas you might have regarding what sort of activities you'd want to see around here! And if there are any questions, feel free to ask.
