 Artists! I'm thinking about doing a summer themed art challenge as a companion for spn_summergen , because I love summery pictures a lot. Would any of you have general interest in participating in such a thing? There'd be about 9 weeks of time from start to deadline if I put it on June 21th, but I'd probably move it a month, because of the BB. Or would you

I'm definitely interested. Are you thinking of it being an exchange like spn_summergen or just a general themed challenge?

Awesome! :DDD I was thinking more of a general themed challenge. I was actually liking the idea to make filling prompts optional, but there would definitely be a prompt thread (I really want writers to prompt) where you could do fills. But I'd like it to be that everyone draws pretty summer pictures, submit them, they get collected and then posted in summer, day by day. Seems neat to me, but maybe not enough of an appeal to participate for others? I JUST WANT A LOT OF PRETTY PICTURES OF SAM AND DEAN EATING WATER MELONS AND STUFF.
Not that I wouldn't love an art exchange, but there's been the idea of an art remix challenge floating about, which I'd be totally into, so I don't see the need to make this one an exchange.

Yeah, exchanges are a lot more work to run efficiently so I'd definitely recommend doing something more lax. I like the idea of prompt fills being optional, though. They can lend some inspiration (if needed).

Finally, is it going to be restricted to gen or are you willing to open it up to slash?

I wouldn't want outright porn (that is, images with the sole purpose of titillation), but I won't say no to some kissing and rolling around in the hay ;) A visible relation to summer is what would be important. Or, there are fics that qualify as gen, but there are still pairings? I'd call it gen-focused.
Yeah I don't think I have the time for organizing an exchange. Exactly, 'inspiration if needed' is what I had in mind. :)

Summergen is a fic exchange, but I was thinking about making this one an open challenge with optional prompt-filling.

rather late in replying to this, but... I'd definitely be interested as a participant, and depending on how much work I'll pile on myself during the BB claims, I'd also be willing to help out with the modding - just one question: Where do you wanna hold this? Are you making a new comm for it? Cause if so, let me know, then I can put it on spnartsupport's affiliates list :)

Awesome! Yeah, I'm setting up a comm. I'm still in the process of creating banners and writing down the rules and such stuff, I've just been a little busy. I don't think modding will be that much work, I hope I'll be able to do most of it. But I'll let you know once it's set-up, okay? (And I'd like you to have a look over the rules!)

Out of curiousity, do you have any experience with modding?(Because I don't!)

ok cool! IA that it's always good to have someone look over your rules and stuff; I had three people help me set up and brainstorm everything for this comm, because I had way too many ideas and lost all overview, so... Just let me know if you need any help from me, wether with little things or anything really, I'm pretty easy :)

As for modding; I mod this comm and a pairing comm - neither of which are very active, though we're working on making this one more proactive - and I'm currently running the mishalecki fanworks exchange over on jaredmisha. So I've got some experience, but not a lot.
