Are you sure that you are clicking the right button? This is the new repost button and you have to click on the blue-ish pencil which will then make the entry appear on your LJ.
You are free to copy paste it too if it would make it easier.
I don't really like the new repost button myself but the old one likes to screw up coding of entries so I decided to keep using the new one because it makes things easier for most people, especially if they have trouble to fix the error in the coding.
