A lovely, bittersweet piece. Especially liked this line:

"Bobby." Her face stretched into a slow smile; her voice all bourbon and honey.

This is a very sweet story -- bittersweet, yes, but still sweet. It's a good description of one idea of this pairing's potential. Great story.

Like everyone else has said before, this was bittersweet and sweet sweet. I really like When they slept, his arms cradled her to him as if she was his. It's a lovely image, and yet - there's that slightly bitter tang. Reminds me of this quote I heard in a movie once: "Without the bitter, the sweet isn't as sweet." I think it fits here, kinda.

I really liked this. This wasn't the pairing I was expecting to get, so color me pleasantly surprised. Thank you for writing this. :D
