There's a discussion currently going on in spn_gen as to what consists of gen. How do you feel about mentioned relationships that are NOT the focus of the story, but exist in the background?

The rules state By "gen" we simply mean stories that do not focus on romantic or sexual relationships, although those relationships may be a small component of the story.

What constitutes "a small component" is down to individual judgement; as a rule of thumb I'd say if you're not sure whether a story is crossing the line, it probably is.

Are you going to have sign ups for pinchhitters? I've pinch hit for you before and while I'm not going to sign up I'd be willing to pinch hit again if needed.

Hi!I'm a big fan of this community and I'm very happy this year also artists and vidders can partecipate!I'm a graphic-maker and I'd like to join,I've read the rules but I still am not sure how to sign up!I know I have to list 6 prompts,then I have to say what I'd rather not receive...but where do I specify I'm an artist?In the "scenarios I'd prefer to write/create"?

pinkfinity just copied over last year's sign-up template, so graphics aren't mentioned. I'll ask her to edit that.

But yes. In the field where it says Scenarios and stories you'd prefer to write: just add a note that you can offer graphics, and what type.

I'm sorry to bother you again,but I was signing up and I don't know if I have to make specific offerings like 2 wallpapers and 6 icons and things like that,or I can say what kind of things I can do and that's it?

Hey, as a former newsletter girl, I thought you guys might want to leave a comment in tonight's newsletter to ask if they'll note that sign-ups close May 15 in the 5/14 edition.

Are you going to post a notice to the comm when assignments are sent out?

Also, are the beta and pinch hit posts screened? I tried to post to one of them, and the comment didn't show up. Normally I get a little notice that the comment was successful, but nothing like that happened this time.

pinkfinity should be doing that, as I'll be on my way home from Asylum on the day. I'll remind her to make a post, but I'm sure she was going to anyway.

No, they shouldn't be screened unless you try to comment anonymously. Try it again; if you still can't comment let me know and I'll look into it.

Also, I gave the pinch-hit entry another try, and it worked fine this time. LJ was probably just having one of its little moments or something.
