What a fantastic depiction of our boys, with their banter and their sarcasm and their concern and their horrid memories and their really happy ones. Just spot-on.

His brother’s face carried the peculiarly Dean expression of childlike delight in a new weapon combined with the burning desire to violently kill something with it.

So perfectly Dean.

“We’re the exception to lots of rules.” Sam pulls the knife out of his belt as his smile sharpens. “You should probably let us by.”

And so perfectly Sam.

This was such a cute story. Great idea, but what I loved most about it was our wonderful brothers on their own, dialoguing with each other the entire time, with no other characters taking the focus from them. One to read again. :)

OMG, this is absolutely perfect. The details are spot-on, you hit the most important treasures (IMHO), and you managed to bring SPN story arcs and character development into it. And the brothers had the little side digs at each other that were perfectly in character. I think "His brother’s face carried the peculiarly Dean expression of childlike delight in a new weapon combined with the burning desire to violently kill something with it" was the best part. Totally worth waiting for!

I played SO MUCH Zork when I was a kid, and I was grinning like a loon while reading this. Like Sam, it brought back a ton of memories, though mine were all good. Thank you so much for putting in the time and producing a wonderful story! I am absolutely thrilled. :D

LOL, I had never heard of Zork and when I found a guide to it I was all omg, how am I going to put this all together???? But it was soooo much fun! Glad you liked the spn/character aspects too. Thank you for the wonderful prompt!

Ah... Sam and Jess will always have a special place in my heart, and this was a lovely reminder. I loved Sam's view of Dean in this - especially how much childlike pleasure Dean took in the badass aspects of the game, and how grumpy he was about being played like this. And Sam's bitter sweet memories added a nice dollop of angst.

It was so nice to be able to fit Jess in here. Sam never did deal with that trauma. So glad you liked it, m'dear!
