So, since I'm crap at keeping up with my shows, I started looking for a calendar or something to keep track of them, and I found this nifty little site that I am so in love with :D

I actually write them in my normal calendar, which looks fun with all the new shows this fall. there are a bunch of them that I want to give a try so I have sometimes like 4 listed on the same day xD

Wednesday is especially bad :P

Wednesdays, Mondays, and Saturdays are bad for me, lol. I watch a ton of TV(there are 32 shows listed on my calendar) so it's a bit of a nightmare xD

Some books. Not all books. My library has been expanding faster than my living space.

I know that feel. I have a few boxes of books in storage, a huge bookcase that takes up half my room(admittedly, my room is, like, the size of a walk-in closet), and books piled on every other surface, including the floor.

God bless Hastings' clearance rack; I find all sorts of new and interesting books there.

Of course, I have no idea when I'm gonna read them. Right now I'm on the Sword of Truth books my friend lent me, and I'm trying to speed through them. What are you guys currently reading?

I've got bookmarks in Elizabeth Bear and Sarah Monette's The Tempering of Men, Elizabeth Bear's Blood and Iron, Mercedes Lackey's Winds of Fate, and a Valdemar short-story collection. I think that's all of them I'm actively reading. I've also recently acquired, for research purposes, a translation of 1 Enoch and a couple annotations of Paradise Lost, and for other research purposes, the Ursula K Le Guin short story collections that include stories involving sedoretu, all of which I need to get cracking on.

I...understand some of these words. LOL. I like fantasy, but so often it fails to hold my attention that I almost never read it unless someone recs it to me.
Ooo, research? What are you working on, if you don't mind me asking?

I've got a couple Harry Potter fic ideas revolving around Le Guin's sedoretu concept--short form is, the world population's divided into two moieties, Morning and Evening. One's moiety is one's mother's moiety. Two Morning folk or two Evening folk having sex is Bad. One might, reasonably and accurately, compare this to the practice in some cultures of permitting cross-cousins (children of a pair of mixed-sex siblings) to marry while forbidding parallel cousins (children of a pair of same-sex siblings) from marrying; the idea is, the genetic pool's not all that large, so let's minimize inbreeding. One might, equally reasonably and accurately, compare this to the practice of permitting mixed-sex couples to marry while forbidding same-sex couples from marrying, but it's a bit harder to connect the dots there, because a sedoretu is a married quartet. One Morning man, one Morning woman, one Evening man, one Evening woman, canonical flexibility on gender but not on moiety, and all four cross-moiety pairs are meant to be sexing ( ... )
