I am very glad I enabled, because you are clearly a natural. If I didn't know this was your first podfic, I never would have guessed. All the edits were smooth, and there were no noticible goofs or random noises or static. The volume level was great throughout.
And your Bobby voice is pretty awesome. Only bit of critique is that you could find some way of making chapter breaks/transitions a tiny bit more noticible, since I caught myself thinking "why did she just say a number?, Oh yeah, chapters." Even a longer pause might work.
And the story was lovely, and the sort of thing I'd never read on my own (gen and all, and to not spoil anyone else, the whole ending is my biggest squick ever, beyond any sort of gore or angst or porn the internet could come up with.
Oh, my gosh! What a lovely compliment! I'm SO glad you like the fruits of your pimpery. I will definitely do more of these--this was really fun to do.
Heh. That's awesome that you liked the Bobby voice. I tried not to do an accent of any sort, but some sort of weird Southerny thing kept creeping in. So I'm glad it worked for you! :)
Yeah, upon relistening, those chapter breaks do come across as random the way I sped right by them. More space next time, for sure.
And I'm glad that you were able to enjoy the lovely story. I know what you mean, but that's why I loved this one--it wasn't cheeseball. It's so bittersweet. IMO. Poor Sammy!
It's no readby:twasadark, but I really enjoyed making it. :) I'm not sure what possessed me to do a lengthy, angsty fic for my first podfic, but hey. I'm looking forward to improving.
Turns out I was able to listen today! Great choice, I really enjoyed the story and the sound level was good.
Two tips I can pass on for future recordings. Every once in a while you speed up while reading which is pretty understandable in those sections but it does make it harder to follow. Also, a more easy thing to remember, have longer pauses on the chapter breaks.

and yeah, now I'm listening to it again and cringing all embarrassed-like. But it's a good story, so hopefully that comes through.

There are lots of things I can improve--I think it's pretty obvious that I've never done one before, but I had to start somewhere. :)
And yeah, the story's great!
