Now you made me insecure about both the summary and the fic itself. The bond is meant in a gen way, I was tempted to tag "platonic soulmates," but it's not *quite* that (since Cas doesn't have a soul), so I didn't.
I write my fics with a focus on deep platonic bonds, though, in a 'best friendship / family' kind of sense, so some people might read them as preslash because while it is very important for me to keep the characters in-character, they probably are a bit more likely to have 'feelings talks,' or hug/touch than they are in canon. Personally, I don't see the fics as preslash, but as I said, now you made me a bit self-conscious.
While it is a Team Free Will fic and thus there are Dean&Sam and Cas&Sam elements as well, the focus is on Dean&Cas, which is why I put (&Sam) in brackets.
