I find A03 much much easier to read fics on. you don't need a masterlist and you don't need to friend anyone. its easier to see if its a multichapter fic. all around better. so thanks for posting it on A03.

and to add to that, if there is a way to get notified about a new fic or to follow an author, i haven't found it on LJ. but on A03, you subscribe to that author and any thing that they write, you get a notice in your inbox. thats a perk that i love.

All excellent points! I love AO3, too. I just don't want to miss out on any potential readers, in case someone has a strong preference for reading on LJ. But I imagine most people don't care (or are like you, and actually prefer AO3!).

another reason is that with A03, if you want to download the fic for later reading, its so easy to do. just hit the download button. I download it to calibre and read it at my leisure. but with LJ, if you want to download it, so you can read it later, you can't … unless you copy and paste into a word document and export to a pdf and then export that to calibre and convert to epub. its a pain. I don't always have time to read the fics when I find them. I read them later when I can. and also, when a comment is made and the author wants to reply, it comes into your inbox. with LJ I haven't found a way to do that and if I want to see if the author, like you, replied, I have to come back to LJ.
sorry to go on and on. thanks for sharing your fics. I really appreciate it. take care.

No apology necessary! I love your passion. :) I agree that AO3 is great for all the reasons you've said, and I love what they stand for, too: giving fans a safe place to post any and all transformative works.
