It starts off with a crack of lightning down the endless road.

"Storm's on the way," said Sam.
"Feels like it," said Shadow. "Maybe it'll snow soon."
"Not that kind of storm. Bigger storm than that coming. I tell you, boy, you're better off in here than out on the street when the big storm comes."

Hola!

I tend to reference Neil Gaiman all the bloody time, mostly because I freakin' love him and because American Gods is exactly what I never knew I always wanted in a story.

Your glee warms my heart greatly. :-)

I'm a few volumes into the Sandman Chronicles and have had American Gods sitting on my shelf for like a year now, unread. Is it sad that my obsession with this show and cool fic challenges is making me want to read the book? :D

P.S. I choose Death ... she's hot. XD

Death is very hot (the Reaper in In My Time of Dying really gave off strong Death vibes). American Gods really is one of my favorite books. Just hit a lot of my favorite story kinks.

Weird, I was just the other day talking to someone about how cool it would be to crossover Sandman and Supernatural, and now you stasrt this.

And who knows, this might be the very thing to get my muses working again.

Also, someone who appreciates Supernatural, Neil Gaiman's fantastic writing and quotes Eddie Izzard is pretty damn cool ;)

Once someone is introduced to Eddie Izzard, it's impossible not to quote him. Even when the people around you have no idea what you're saying, it's awesome.

I may have to bother one of my more html-aware friends to see if the commenting font issue can be corrected. Thanks for pointing it out and I hope you enjoy the future stories to be posted!

Oh. my gods.

Combining my two obsessions? Absolutely brilliant. I've been just re-reading American Gods (the author's prefered version I finally got)...
I actually had no idea about Kripke talking about American Gods, but it makes a lot of sentence - there are many similarities in the stories, be it the demigods' appearances, the overall feel, or some concepts and moods...
This community is a brilliant idea. I shall go and pimp it now :)

Welcome to the community! And yep, Kripke has admitted he was influenced by American Gods and it'll be fascinating to see multiple perspectives on exploring the SPN and Gaiman verses.
