Oooh I really like this :) Maybe particularly because of the winter Olympics coming up and I'm getting excited about the skating! hehe
But I like the accuracy in Dean's pose in that first image, and the costume really does look like a real figure skating costume - I can already picture Dean artistically losing the hat and coat at strategic moments early in his program (as they do), and the song, and just... you make me want this particular free skate performance to be a real thing SO BAD :) hehe
I've done costume design for theater and lots of cosplay, so when I make a design for an au or whatever, I research it and draw it so you could make the costume - something Western could be done, but really hokey and costumey. Yes, it does borrow the hat and duster from Dean's Frontierland costume (at the end of the show) because it is Supernatural, but the costume he'd skate in - sans duster and hat, is original.
I did a few colourways, but the charcoal, brown and tan was the best, I felt, and making the back of the vest match the trousers and shoes gives one long lean shape against the ice. :D
thanks for commenting. (we did change the music of this piece to an instrumental - 'Silver' from the Lone Ranger soundtrack (the best thing from the film)
